May 04 How To: Convert Your Office Live E-Mail to POP Mail
As many of figured you can access your Office Live E-mail over the Web by visiting www.hotmail.com or via Outlook using the Outlook Connector plug-in from Microsoft. These methods are fine when you have access to a PC.
However, if you're a Blackberry carrying road warrior then the only option is POP3 mail. So what's POP3 mail you ask. POP stands for Post Office Protocol version 3 and allows you to retrieve e-mail from a remote server over a TCP/IP connection.
To turn one of your Office Live emails into POP, you need to signup for Windows Live Hotmail Plus. It costs $19.95 per year for the subscription.
Go to http://get.live.com/en-us/mailplus/features , click Get it Now. Don't create a new Windows Live ID. On the top of the page, click on Go to sign-in page. Log in with the Office Live email account. And follow the rest of the screen to signup for Window Live Hotmail Plus.
The good thing is that you won't have to do this for each email account you have with Office Live. Since, you're able to forward to another Office Live or Windows Live account, then all you need to do is forward all other emails (the one's you want to get thru POP) to this Windows Hotmail Plus.
